All eight dogs went through to the second day and all eight dogs delighted again, each with a lovely display today as each worked exceptionally on the best of grounds where it is a privilege to hold our two-day stake: in ‘The Park’ Nevill Holt. A fabulous testing ground where each dog is truly tried. Thank you to all that made this trial such a success – guns, judges, helpers and Mr Jim Chattaway et al and my fellow committee members for their happy assistance.
The best of luck to Claire and the lovely Nettle at the Championship.
Novice Retriever Trail @ Ampton 7th November 2024
A lovely day a lovely trial and lovely company. How incredibly fortunate the Society is for two things – to hold a stake at Ampton under the management of The Maestro Mr Alan Hammond and to be sponsored by a new company, Hoddy’s, a company producing sustainable complete dog food from British game (and my Bridget loves it, and she’s choosy!)
Some lovely young dogs here today and as well as their field ability, I was truly impressed with the conformational quality of the labrador Retrievers competing in this trial.
A day spent mostly on low sugar beet with game coming well to the gun – guns shot very well indeed as expected from the team led by Phil Parkins.
Thank you to the team of helpers who allow us to compete in our sport – we could not do it without you x
Thank you to our judges Terry Prentice, Andy Mutimer, Jackie Smith and Lesley Cooper Shaw.
First Mr Paul Wheeler with his dog Willowrise Midnight Storm
COM Mr Tom Lowe with his bitch Websend The Three Graces
COM & Guns Choice Mrs Jackie Martin with Goldieslie Queen’s Coppice
